It is Sunday, September 29th. We made it to Boston. In terminal B of CVG, I stopped at Fifth third. I was really impressed with their new lounge area for customers. They have really nice sitting areas with lots of charging stations. They have a few booths with tables and even a few closed private booths to take virtual calls.
It was an easy 2-hour flight despite the rain yesterday morning. The plane was older and did not have screens with movies, etc. I started a new book on my kindle that I will enjoy during the trip. We decided to take a cab from the airport to avoid taking a bus from the rideshare area for lyft, uber. I also read that sometimes cabs from the airport can be just as cheap if not cheaper for lyft/uber from the Boston airport.
Our room was ready at check in. After settling in, we headed to Legal seafood near the hotel to try the Lobster Mac and cheese. We split the mac and cheese. It had great presentation stuffed inside an actual lobster shell. We wanted to check out a few breweries we have not been to before when visiting Boston. Our first stop was Night shift brewing in the Love joy wharf area which is on the Harbor and across the bridge from the U.S.S. Constitution landmark at the end of the Freedom trail. On the way, we drove past Fanuel Hall and the location of the Sam Adams Boston taproom which we visited on our trip here last September.
Next we traveled over the bridge to Cambridge and visiting Lamplighter Brewing. The drive there allowed us to see a lot of nightlight with people waiting in line for a concert at the stadium where the Boston Celtics play and the bustling Cambridge/MIT neighborhood. Lamplighter Brewing had several rooms and more of a coffee house vibe. A lot of groups were playing board games or other card games. We had cards with us so we played UNO which we started playing again when we visited breweries this summer.
Today, we plan to start the morning with a visit to the gym to get on a good start for the vacation. We plan to head to Harvard square for an early lunch at a restaurant called Source which we saw featured on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. While in that area we may also check out Aeronaut brewing. We want to visit Trillium brewing this afternoon. It has been on our list for a while. Harpoon is also in the cruise port area and has a great low cost tour if you are ever in the area. Overall, I think it will be a low key day with some good food and more visits to breweries!
